Jennifer Winget was born on 30 May 1985 in Mumbai, India. Her father, Hemant Winget, is a Maharashtrian Christian, and her mother, Prabha Winget, is Punjabi. Their hometown is Yavatmal, Maharashtra.
She attended St. Xavier's High School and earned a BCom degree from KJ Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce. Despite not having an acting degree, she is one of the most versatile actresses on television.
Jennifer Winget and Karan Singh Grover fell in love while working together on the hit show Dill Mill Gaye. They dated for years and exchanged vows on 9 April 2012. However, in November 2014, Winget announced that she and Grover had separated.
The journey to becoming a successful actress started in her childhood. She began acting at 10 in the 1995 movie "Akele Hum Akele Tum." In 1997, she appeared as a schoolkid in the film "Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat," which starred Rani Mukerji. At 15, she was seen in the 2000 film "Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya" as Tanu.
Her favorite actors are Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji. Her dream role is to portray Rani Mukerji's character in "Black." Before pursuing a career in acting, she wanted to become an air hostess.
Her big break as a lead in television came with the show Karthika, which premiered in 2004 on Hungama TV. In it, she portrayed a struggling singer dreaming of making it big.
She is known for her roles as Sneha Bajaj in "Kasautii Zindagii Kay" and Dr. Riddhima Gupta in "Dill Mill Gayye." She also starred in "Saraswatichandra," "Beyhadh," and "Bepannah."
Jennifer Winget portrayed strong female characters from 2020 to 2022 as Major Monica Mehra in Code M (ALTBalaji) and in 2024 as Anushka Raisinghani in Raisinghani vs Raisinghani (Sony LIV).
Jennifer Winget won the 2008 reality show "Zara Nach Ke Dikha 1." The show premiered on 14 July 2008 and was hosted by Karan Singh Grover and Shweta Gulati. In 2009, she appeared at Comedy Circus; in 2010, she appeared at Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout.
Winget won the ITA Awards in 2017 for Best Actress (Jury) for her role as Maya Malhotra in Beyhadh. She also won the Zee Gold Awards 2018 for Best Actress (Jury) for portraying Zoya Siddiqui in Bepannah.
