Sharman Joshi, who rose to fame with the Golmaal series, will soon debut on the web with ALTBalaji’s upcoming show, Baarish, which also features Asha Negi.
Talking about his character in the show, he shares, “My character Anuj is very different from the earlier characters and is really close to my heart. He is a Gujarati businessman, who is looking for a girl who respects him and his family. He finds one in the character that Asha Negi plays in the series. The story focuses on how they begin the journey together and discover love along the way.”
The talented thespian feels that the web is a wonderful platform for content makers and performers.
“Web is a wonderful platform to be on. Baarish is a clutter-breaker, as nowadays, web is focusing on dark shows, high on sexual content; and foul language is being used pretty extensively. In that space, this series is different as it is a simple love story. It brings back the love which is possibly missing in today’s generation. I feel the USP of the series is its simplicity.”
