The luxury brand Balenciaga has come under fire for a photo session that featured young models cuddling with teddy bears with prurient themes. The pictures, which were part of a marketing campaign to hawk its Objects line, drew a lot of backlash and criticisms from the netizens and celebs too.
Kim Kardashian, a brand ambassador, came under heat as a result and retaliated with a statement. Balenciaga has withdrawn the pictures and revealed that it is taking legal action concerning one photo shoot.
Some people consider Balenciaga to be one of the “top global companies,” and superstars and influencers embrace its high-end products. Nevertheless, images from two of the company’s most recent commercials incited outrage. First was a collection of pictures with child models holding teddy bear bags from the business. However, the pictures almost endorsed child pornography in the line up.
Kim Kardashian reacting to it, said, “shaken by the disturbing images” she added, “any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society — period.” As quoted by BBC. She also added that she believes that the brand has understood the seriousness of the issue and would never lead such anytime again.
