Barish 2 to go on floor soon: Priya Banerjee

ALTBalaji show Barish’s, starring Sharman Joshi and Asha Negi, Season 2 will go on the floors in the next couple of months. Priya Banerjee, who plays the character of Shreya, confirmed the same.

“My character in this romantic comedy will have a major twist; do watch out for it. I really enjoyed working with the entire unit. This is my second show with Alt after Bekaaboo (where she played the lead).”

“I have got a great response for both my characters, especially for Bekaaboo. And the best part is that although the latter was extremely bold, her inner turmoil still stood out. Many women came forward and praised the feminist underpinnings of the story.”

“I never knew Indian content was watched worldwide. While holidaying at an international place, people came and greeted me with my Bekaaboo character name. It feels good when your work is appreciated in all corners of the world.”

For the moment, Priya is enjoying the attention for her new MX Player web series, Hello Mini, loosely based on Fifty Shades Of Grey (produced by Goldie Behl) which has just hit the World Wide Web.

“I am getting a very good response for it. Since the lead girl Anuja Joshi is also from the US, while I am from Canada, we hit it off very well.”

She refused to comment on BDSM s*x which forms an integral part of the show. “I know people do practise it in real life, to each his own.”

“There is a presser of the same scheduled for the fourth of this month, so we will talk more about it then,” added she.

Besides Hello Mini, Priya will also be seen in a Zee5 series, Love Sleep Repeat. “It is not that I only do erotic (Rain). Apart from the family series Barish, the above fun show is based on a book, 7 Days Without You.”

After her recent Hind film, Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna, sank without a trace, she is looking forward to one more film. “But I’d rather let the producers make the relevant announcement.”

Asked as to what went wrong with the above Karanvir Bohra production, she says, “I really don’t know, the music was good. Maybe, as the film was delayed for whatever reason, it might have got jaded. You never know. We all had worked hard.”
