Digital space has brought employment for content makers: Aahana Kumra

Web actress Aahana Kumra is back on ZEE5. The actress, who last enthralled audience in Rangbaaz is currently part of ZEE5 film Yours Truly, which also features Soni Razdan, Pankaj Tripathi and Vinay Pathak. The film also features Mahesh Bhatt in a special, impactful appearance.

Commenting on being back on the platform, she says, “I am glad to be associated with ZEE5 again. It was a 10 mins process and I agreed to do the film. I decide most of my work on instinct and intuition. Then I got a script and I read it, it was so beautifully written. In today’s time, this is so de-cluttered from everything. It is about a man and a woman who have never met and they are having conversations over letters. this is literally out of a fairy tale. It is like a book that I must have read in school. There are actors like Soni Razdan, Pankaj Tripathi and Mahesh Bhatt, why would I say no to such a film.”

Aahana had a fun time shooting with Soni, sharing about the same, she shares, “I had the best time working with Soni ma’am. I am truly happy that I have found a friend in her. We have a conversation beyond work. I met her in such a warm way that I did not felt like I have never met her. It was so warm. Our scenes came out beautiful that because of our instant connect. I am truly grateful and blessed to have worked with Soni ma’am.”

When we ask about her definition of finding the right guy, she avers, “I am not a millennium in my mind. I have not swiped left or right in my life. I think if you wait and have patience you will find the right person. Also, it is not about finding a person but completing a journey together. Marriages are not easy, you have work every day of your life.”

Lastly, Aahana feels digital space has brought employment for content makers. “I am happy with this platform, we are being recognized as actors. I remember five years ago, I, Amol, Sumeet, we used to sit in Prithvi theatre having gala time along with a cup of tea. People didn’t know us although we have been doing so much work. I am sure there are a lot of artists who have dedicated their lives to the stage. Nobody knows them because they are doing a small part in films. For them, it doesn’t matter whether the film work or not. Today there is a platform which is respecting such kind of films and artist. There is so much employment for content makers. I think now content is king, the writers and directors have to take center stage. They are leading and we actors are following. This is a really good time for every content maker.”
