Drive has Bollywood storytelling with an international touch: Vikramjeet Virk

TV and film actor Vikramjeet Virk is extremely excited about his upcoming film Drive, also starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez, which, rather than releasing theatrically, will directly stream on Netflix from 1st November.

“As you must be knowing, this film is about a gang of car racers. We have shot in the Israeli capital, Tel Aviv. The entire unit had a blast. I got along with the entire cast, which also includes Sapna Pabbi and Boman Irani.”

“As an actor, it is a matter of great pride to be associated with Dharma Productions (Karan Johar). Director Tarun Mansukhani sir also knew exactly what he wanted.”

“I can just repeat what Karan had said – with nail-biting chases and action sequences, fronted by a spectacular cast, Drive combines the best of Bollywood storytelling with international production quality. I’m thrilled to partner with Netflix once again in bringing this incredibly fun film to millions of fans of the action genre around the world. The Asees Kaur-sung song Makhna has already become a rage,” added he.

When asked whether the absence of a theatrical release will harm its reach, he says, “On the contrary, it will give us better coverage, for today, I myself miss many films in theatres, preferring to check them out on Netflix and other streaming platforms.”

Vikramjeet has done several regional films (Telugu, Punjabi and Malayalam), and will next be part of Battle of Saragarhi, which hit theatres next year.

Besides films, he has done several TV shows as well, which includes Shobha Somnath Ki, Devon Ke

Dev…Mahadev, Suryaputra Karn, etc.

Interestingly, his fantasy show Maharakshak Aryan also streams on Netflix. “I have got a very good response for the same,” ended this model from Karnal.
