Actor Kriti Sanon has now turned a producer as well with her latest release, Do Patti on Netflix and as the film dropped on the streaming platform earlier, we managed to have the actor sit with us for an exclusive conversation.

In the interview, Sanon went on to talk about having success lately, dealing with failure and making sure that her performance in a film is appreciated even if for some reason, the film doesn’t work among other things.

When asked about what has been her learning curve over the years dealing with all these factors, she said, “You have to connect with the audience. If they aren’t connecting with you, it doesn’t matter. To be honest, my journey hasn’t been like, one day I have peaked. I have had my ups and downs and moments where four back-to-back films haven’t worked.  I have had moments where people have doubted also as they say, ‘Arre ye filmein nahi chal rahi.’ I believe you just need to keep working and try getting better.”

She added, “Also, you need to reflect on what you did wrong. Learn from your mistakes and you have to be at it. Because I believe both ups and downs are very temporary. Tomorrow, if God forbid four films don’t work – you need to be prepared because the industry is like that. I only want to be honest about my work, and I don’t ever want people to come out of a film and say, ‘Iski performance muje achi nahi lagi’, even if the film isn’t working for them. That I don’t want because that is the only thing that is in your control. Rest what VFX, what release date and other factors are – they are beyond your control.”

She concluded, “The idea is also to keep trying to look for different work and roles. I don’t want anyone to put me in a box and people to assume that ‘Kriti Sanon ki film toh aisi hogi.’ So, I only try and achieve that.
