Television hunk Barun Sobti who rose to fame playing Arnav Singh Raizada in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, is all set to enthral audience in ALTBalaji’s The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family.
Commenting on why he opted for the series, he says, “I always pick up stuff based on the story; so in that sense the story of this series attracted me to take it up. Ranaut family is a pretty screwed up family. Everyone in India keeps pointing at the other families but no one wants to accept that their own family is also facing problems. Everyone keeps covering it. All families which exist are dysfunctional. You pick up Mahabharat and that was also dysfunctional. Everyone keeps covering it, hence no one knows about it.”
When asked about the working experience with other co-stars, he shares, “We were shooting in real locations and it used to be really hot. I think you have in my mind that you don’t want to stay at such a place for a very long time and every co-star made it possible. We gave our best shot and it was quickly shot so that we can go back to our vanity and relax. I am really glad that I have this team. We were comfortable with each other. Working with Ekta Kapoor was a cakewalk. It was amazing with the ALTBalaji team.”
Barun believes that web is the future. “I see this phase to be a very critical time, with respect to how the future of web it is going to be in India. I also see this as a very critical time for every actor and it depends on the performance he / she has delivered and the projects that they take up. Web has taken over the mail boxes and newspapers. I am pretty sure it will take over the content driven market.”
On an ending note, he doesn’t have any plans of being back on TV, “I am pretty occupied right now, so there are no plans of coming back on TV. People keep thinking that all depends on the actor, but it is not like that. We can’t go to remake a show again and again. It is not in our hands,” ends Barun.
Good luck boy!
