Bollywood hottie Zayed Khan, who is known for films like Main Hoon Na and Shabd, is the latest big-screen celebrity to make his acting debut on television.
He will play the stylized and sophisticated character of Ranvir Raichand, a business tycoon in Sony Entertainment Television’s Haasil, produced by Alchemy Films. The thriller which is a finite series will also feature Vatsal Sheth and Nikita Dutta.
Talking about his selection for the role, he shares, “There is a very funny story related to it. Producer Siddharth (Malhotra) is a friend so he called me to just pose along with the lead girl in the screen test. The girl opposite me was the amazing and fantastic actress Nikita Dutta. In her screen test, I got selected. I am very thankful to Siddharth and Sony TV. The network is taking a big risk by bringing in such a unique show. I feel the channel and production house have surpassed the limit in bringing something new to the table. I am happy to be here.”
Zayed feels TV needs great presence of mind, “I learnt new skills on TV. One thing I learnt is that TV needs great presence of mind. It has been very hard to execute such a classy show. It was difficult to get quality work in limited time but we have managed to do it,” says the actor.
When asked what his dad (yester-year’s reigning star, Sanjay Khan) advised him before his debut, he avers, “My dad advised me to be disciplined on TV.”
Good luck Zayed!
