Film and web actor Tara Alisha Berry is spending the Coronavirus lockdown period locked in with her boyfriend and mother.
“A lot of my industry friends are using this period to do creative home photoshoots or writing lockdown stories about both the well-heeled or the migrant workers. I, for the moment, am just happy cooking (which I love ) and helping out with daily chores. “I am also keeping fit courtesy online class my yoga teacher is conducting.”
Tara is quite happy with the response to ZEE5 show, State of Siege. “My news-hungry journalist character Parvati who was ready to bend the rules, is poles apart from my most successful role in Viu web series, Love, Lust, and Confusion. I give full credit to my Yankee director Matthew Leutwyler for ensuring that we shot the State of Siege in every day to day matters in terms of costumes and body language etc.”
So any disappointment that Love, Lust and Confusion will not come back as the platform (Viu) has shut?
“Heartbreaking, Poroma Sarkar made me a household name. As all the characters were real-life inspired by people who writer-director Victor Mukherjee knew personally, they made a more significant impact.”
Your film career (Mastram and Love Games) has not taken off? “I am just happy doing different types of characters.” Looking ahead, Tara has one Tamil film and another web series, both of which are in post-production.
“Work has not stopped even now. I recently gave an online audition for one more web series to be shot later. Everyone is trying to be positive, having said that the global economy is tanking for sure.”
