Popular Marathi actress Saii Ranade Sane, who was seen in shows Laado 2 – Veerpur Ki Mardaani and Tara From Satara, is all set to feature in a light-hearted but touching short film ‘Social Emotions’ by Hocussfocus Productions.
Hocussfocus production is helmed by Ashhna Srivastava, Punit Dahima and Vandana Singh.
After playing prominent characters in around a dozen daily soaps, Social Emotions will be Saii’s first project on web media. She will be supported by veteran actress Shivani Sopori who has played key characters in Kumkum Bhagya and Mirzapur. Saii’s real-life husband Salil Sane will be debuting as her reel life husband in the film.
In today’s world, many of us rely on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Snapchat to find and connect with each other. While it has its benefits, it’s important to remember that social media can never be a replacement for real-world human connection. It requires in-person contact with others to trigger the hormones that alleviate stress and make you feel happier, healthier and more positive. Ironically for some of us, this route has become an addiction and this short film is about a similar person who has invested so much in their social life that they don’t care about the emotions of people around them until it’s too late and they are the ones who get to taste their own medicine
Talking about the project, Saii said: “I was very happy to use my lockdown time to create something meaningful and eye-opening in the current scenario. Having my hubby Salil play as my hubby was an exciting time for both of us during the shoot.”
She added, “The message that this short film gives is use your phone to read a book, learn a new topic, create something of value, and master your craft. Find a job or a new hobby, call your true friends and family instead of just shooting a simplistic text. Put the technology to good use. We should not avoid all social media and cell phone use. Moderation is key when it comes to feeling our time with certain entertainment. Let’s focus on the things that are actually important to us.”
Well said Saii! Good luck!
