Maria Goretti, celeb host and wife of actor Arshad Warsi, is looking forward to anchoring the fourth season of Firstpost parenting show, 9 Months.
“While the first three seasons of 9 Months dealt with pregnancy, child-birth and neonates, now it features a little more grown up stage in the life of the baby. I will be discussing nutrition, health, hygiene, and last but not the least, whether kids should be playing with toys or gadgets, with experts, opinion-makers and celebrities, who will come on board to share their personal experiences,” says this mother of preteen kids.
“We will deal with issues involving the kids, his/her parents and caretakers. So all in all, new mothers/fathers will go back armed with lots of useful information,” says this multi-faceted lady, who is a dancer, half marathoner and advanced PADI diver.
This is India’s first and only comprehensive show on pregnancy and childcare, recording a remarkable 11.8 million views across platforms. Adding to that, the series has gained traction as the go-to guide for new parents and has amassed a reach of 20 million and 43,000 engagements in the form of reactions, comments and shares on Facebook. The show has been highly appreciated by the audience for delivering high-quality and valuable content for new parents.
This mother of two further adds, “Hosting something that you have gone through yourself is interesting, as you also bring your emotions and knowledge to the table. Having said that, there is no clear guide to parenting. Agreed, most new mothers are very informed. Yet nothing except hands-on learning can really prep you to be a good mom.”
Maria is not very gung-ho about acting. She had done just a bit role in the Rajat Kapoor film, Raghu Romeo. “I don’t want to talk about it. I just did it for fun and fancy. I am much happier hosting.”
“My hosting skills are perfect. I began with a travel show, then shifted to the magazine-based format and MTV VJing. This was followed by sports stints (Sony and ESPN), post which I took a break and now I am back.” Being a chef, she also hosted the food show, I love Cooking, on Living Foodz.
In closing, when we point out that the show is different form the normal sex-based web template, she says, “Well, pregnancy begins with sex, right? Life comes a full circle.”
