Ritvik Sahore the talented young actor has won all praise for his enchanting and adventurous role of Nilesh Sonawane aka Aamcha Spider in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s recently launched series on Disney+ Hotstar titled Escaype Live.
In a candid conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Ritvik takes us through the hardships and learnings that he got during this amazing journey called Escaype Live.
Excerpts:
Take us through this journey!!
This has been a great journey for me. Through Escaype Live, I have experienced many firsts. Audiences have seen me in varied looks. Also, this series allowed me to get deep down into action and stunts.
Yes, the stunt sequence of Aamcha Spider were breathtaking. Take us through the training sessions.
I trained for this series for around a year. With Siddharth Sir and Shyam Kaushalji directing my action scenes, it was quite an experience. We had detailed discussions on what Aamcha will wear, how he will talk etc. The stunts were shot systematically on a very large scale.
How would you describe your character?
Aamcha Spider, as per the name in the playing App, lives in a slum dwelling area with his parents. He is aware that he has got the spark in him, and wants to change his life and give his family a better life. Escaype Live presents him with this opportunity and this is how he starts to showcase his talent. So yes, he has this charisma to change his destiny and believes that his life can change for the better.
As a layman, what do you think will be the key aspects for the youth watching it?
Everything in the series will appeal to everyone. I read this script nearly three and a half years ago, when there was no Covid around. Social media, content creation and reel making have become so relevant in today’s times. So from these six characters and their phenomenal journeys through this app, everyone will have something to relate to. There is something to take away from each character, based on the audience’s experience.
What are your expectations?
It has been a long journey. The amount of hard work and passion that has gone into this story is amazing. Siddharth Kumar Tewary has been into this concept for four long years now. He has made it possible along with his team to execute this concept in the way he wanted to. We are all excited and happy to have been part of this series. This is the first-of-its-kind for the Indian OTT space.
What are your personal takeaways from this character?
I aspire to be as confident and strong built as Aamcha. As far as work is concerned, I got the chance to work with the best technicians, and professionals. I could not have asked for a better platform for learning. The action was big here, and I learnt a lot about how to fight without getting injured, and how to make it look real and believable.
How comfortable and confident are you with action now?
I have learnt a lot with the action sequences. Shyamji was very patient with me. We worked earlier on Dangal, but I had no action scene there. He took good care of me and made sure I was comfortable all through the process.
What lies next for you?
Third Season of Flames and next season of Campus Diaries too might happen.
All the best, Ritvik!!
