I want to make good cinema as a Producer: Sudhanshu Pandey

Sudhanshu Pandey of Anupamaa fame talks of his new short film Fitrat and on his upcoming plans.

Sudhanshu Pandey the talented model, singer and actor is living a dream playing the complex lead character of Vanraj Shah in Rajan Shahi and Star Plus’ numero uno show Anupamaa.

Sudhanshu who is also a Producer intends on coming up with varied content and banks on his instincts for new and unique ideas.

His new baby as Producer is the short film Fitrat which is directed by Taher Ali Baig that presently streams on Hungama Play.

Says Sudhanshu, “I was looking forward to the release of Fitrat, especially because it is my baby as Producer. The excitement is more when you work on a project in the capacity of producer and actor. My character in Fitrat is very different. I play a Muslim character who is aggressive. I am honored to have associated with a director of the caliber of Taher Ali Baig.”

“Fitrat has a beautiful message to convey to the masses. I decided to give the short film the title of Fitrat as it is very relevant to its concept. We shot for Fitrat in early 2020 in Hyderabad. The short film has a realistic feel with respect to its music too. The lyrics and songs add more value to the concept of the short film. Singer and rapper Ankit has done a wonderful job.”

Talking more on the USP of Fitrat, Sudhanshu states, “The short film is designed to express and convey a strong social message. Its USP lies in the social message conveyed. In times when everyone has become so very impatient towards each other, and also judge a person according to his/her looks, this film tackles about how this is so wrong.”

Sudhanshu expresses that being part of creative thinking gives him a new high. “To create and present and also to get rewarded by appreciation is what I like the most.  As a Producer, I want to create good content. This is just the beginning for me. This is my second work as a Producer, the first being the music video. I have a few scripts ready for feature films. I am good at getting unique ideas, which I pass on to my writing team. As you know, I write poems, but writing a whole story and screenplay is a different ball game altogether.”

On plans ahead, he avers, “I will definitely want to make good cinema. Though the actor in me will always be at the forefront, I will work hard towards executing my concepts. I am also not someone who will make films to just act in them. That will never be my priority. Having said that, if the role suits me, I will definitely do it. I do have certain subjects where I see myself acting. In addition to this, I will surely keep seeking work as an actor from outside.”
