Ali Abbas Zafar is currently one of the most loved and sought after directors in Bollywood. His previous accolades include the likes of Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai & Bharat which have been humongous blockbusters at the box office and now he’s all set to make his big debut as a director in the OTT space with Amazon Prime Video’s next Tandav. The show stars Saif Ali Khan and Dimple Kapadia in lead roles who are all set to entertain the audience as they lock horns with each other in the narrative.
But hey readers, did you know that Tandav actually wasn’t supposed to be a web show? Well, here it straight from the horse’s mouth. During the trailer launch, Ali was quoted as saying,
“Well, the plan and thought for Tandav came way back during Sultan and due to the other projects I was already actively working in, I had to push it forward. But then I was so impressed with the script that I had to make it. But I realized that the scope of Tandav is so humongous and big that it’s not possible to put it together for a 2-3 hours film. That’s when we had the thought of making it into a complete series and after doing the necessary meetings with the platforms and getting everything sorted, we are here all set to entertain everyone. Fingers crossed.”
