Talented beauty Poppy Jabbal, who is known for her work in projects like Broken But Beautiful, Uda Aida, and Mahi NRI, recently entertained fans as Amrit in Udan Patolas, an Amazon miniTV series, produced by Applause Entertainment.
Talking about her experience working on the project, she said, “It was always on my bucket list that I want to do an all-girls show. When I started auditioning for this show, I was very keen on doing this project. I am glad that it happened. It is a fun show. I play the role of Amrit, who is part of Mumbai’s high society social club as she has a rich boyfriend.”
She further added, “We bonded beautifully well. Our characters were well defined hence there was no insecurity on set. There were no catfights ever. And the energy on set was amazing. It was fun shooting for the show.”
When asked how OTT helped actors in terms of opportunities, she mentioned, “OTT is very cool. There is no restriction. There is not much censorship and it is very convincing. You can watch it anytime. OTT has helped in employment too. From writers, directors to producers and actors, everybody who did not have a chance, is super busy now.”
So has OTT taken over TV? Your take? “I don’t think TV has taken over as OTT. TV has a very different audience. In fact, TV, films, and OTT all have their own spaces. OTT has just carved its own niche,” ended the actress.
