Chak De girl Sagarika Ghatge is looking forward to her web debut with Karan Singh Grover in upcoming Alt Balaji web series, Boss. “It is an interesting hard-nosed cop character. ACP Sakshi believes in playing by the book. As an actor, it is always fun to play a strong police officer, for there is so much to do.”

“I liked working with Karan (Singh Grover) and the team, for we were all on the same page and had lot a of fun besides producing great content.”

When asked as to how bold Boss would be, she replied, “Why don’t you watch and find out for yourself (streaming 2nd Aug). It has all the required ingredients, fun, thrills, etc.”

Sagarika, who has been around for years, likes to work at her own pace. “I do only those projects that I believe in.” We ask her what went wrong with her last film, Irada. “I really don’t know, but interestingly, people started taking interest in this thriller only after it won an award.” Her other films have been Rush, Fox and Miley Naa Miley Hum. Sadly, most of them tanked at the Box Office.

Besides Hindi, this Kolhapuri mulgi is also working in Marathi cinema. “My debut project in my mother tongue, Premachi Goshta, is right up in my heart along with Chak De. I have also done a Punjabi film, Dildariyaan.”

“I have one more Marathi film, Monsoon Football, lined up.”

Sports seems to play an important role in Sagarika’s life. Not only was her debut Shah Rukh Khan film based on hockey, but she even married former Team India pace bowler, Zaheer Khan.

She is game for more web series. “I am looking for good projects across films and web.”

For the moment, Sagarika does not want to return to nonfiction TV. “I am happy with what I have on my plate. She had been a part of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 6 four years back.”

In closing, we ask Sagarika about marriage. “It will soon be a happy two years. The best thing is to return home to someone you love.” What was the mood at home when India lost to New Zealand in the World Cup cricket semi-final? “Like the whole country, we too are sad. So near yet so far. We had played so well in the entire tournament.”
