Times of India included author turned filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee in the prestigious Top 5 Indie Filmmakers club in a recent article for his film Season’s Greetings, a tribute to Rituparno Ghosh. Mukherjee joined the august gathering of extremely talented Filmmakers like Neeraj Ghaywan, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Shaan Vyas and Priyanka Banerjee.
Celebrated filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan topped the chart for his outstanding film Geeli Pucchi that fetched him massive accolades.
Mukherjee scored the second-highest rank in the list for his critically acclaimed film Season’sGreetings. “With almost 10 million views and bagging maximum awards at national and international film festivals, Ram Kamal’s film ‘Season’s Greetings a tribute to Rituparno Ghosh’ remains one of the most talked-about films in recent times. From legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan endorsing the film to United Nations declaring it as world’s first film to collaborate on Free and Equal movement to Rolling Stones reviewing the film as “Must Watch”, Ram Kamal emerged as the rising filmmaker who also bagged the best director award at several festivals across the globe.”
Tannishtha made it to the list for her film Rat-A-Tat which was a part of Amazon Prime’s anthology Unpaused. Shaan and Priyanka were included for their popular films Natkhat and Devi.
