Asha Negi, who rose to fame with Pavitra Rishta, is all set to weave magic again as a performer in ALTBalaji and ZEE5’s series Baarish Season 2.
Baarish Season 2, starring Sharman Joshi and Asha in the lead, revolves around the ups and downs of Anuj (Sharman) and Gauravi’s (Asha) love story.
In conversation with IWMBuzz.com the actress revealed about her working experience, first on-screen kiss and more…
How was your experience working on season 2 of the series?
It was an amazing experience. We were waiting for the shoot to start as we are a happy team and it was fun shooting with all the co-stars and the director. In season 1, it took time for all of us to become friends but in season 2 we had worked earlier and knew each other so we were like a family. We all were excited to work with Jeetu ji (Jeetendra) as he is also part of season 2.
What is different about season 2? What will attract the audience most about part 2?
I think there is more entertainment in season 2. Season 1 was raw. It is also a simple, beautiful story and we have maintained the same essence in the next season. We have added more entertainment and there are more layers to our character. Also, it was more challenging to act in season 2 compared to the previous one.
What was the most challenging scene in the second season?
There were many challenging scenes, however, there was my first on-screen kiss in the show. I was very shy. There were more highly emotional scenes. When you have an actor like Sharman Joshi opposite you, you feel more pressure to deliver a perfect scene. As an actor, it was challenging.
How has your bond evolved with co-star Shraman during these two seasons?
We initially were very formal in the previous season and then we became friends. We both like staying indoors, so we have something in common. Sharman, Priya, our director and I, we four got along very well. When we started shooting for the second season, our director used to tell us that too much friendship is happening between you two, so start behaving as husband and wife like the characters.
Is lockdown a blessing in disguise? You all can watch the season being home?
Yes, I totally agree as we all are excited. Now, people are at home so they want to binge-watch shows and it is indeed a good time that they can enjoy the series. We too can watch our series now as we are also not busying promoting it.
You have portrayed a girl next door character in your shows and web series, which type of character would you like to explore now?
There are many characters which I want to try and play in my career. We actors are very greedy. Now, I really want to do something different. I want to portray a strong woman character wherein I can use a gun and do stunts.
How are you spending your quarantine time? Have you explored something new during your free time?
I wrote a couple of poems during the initial days of lockdown. Later, I did painting.
What are you missing the most during the lockdown?
I miss going out and meeting people. Also, not having to cook food and wash the dishes. (laughs) I really want to go to a restaurant and have my favourite dish and pay the bill and leave without any worry. I miss going to the theatre and miss watching movies.
What is the first thing you will do post lockdown?
I will go to a restaurant and eat. Apart from that, I will visit my home town and meet my parents.
Any message for fans?
I am very thankful and grateful that people like my series. I am want to thank my fans for always supporting me whether I am doing something or not doing something that means a lot and that also motivates me to do better.
