Tom has been playing the titular part in the Netflix drama since 2016, and he has amassed an army of admirers in the process. However, the actor now claims that a number of scammers have created phony social media identities in his name, which have led to victims parting with their money. “Unfortunately, I have to do a little video because people keep pretending to be me on social media,” Tom stated in an Instagram video. Other individuals continue to fall for it, donating money to charities that aren’t truly benevolent, he continued.
“I cannot say it more; clearly, I only use this account,” he said before confirming his Instagram, and Twitter user handles. Tom continued: “On any other social media platform, it is not me; it is not me on TikTok. I cannot say it more clearly.” “I’m so sorry for the people that have fallen for that; I feel so resentful for the people that pretend to be me and try to get money out of you; they’re horrible people, so please don’t fall for it anymore.”
Inbar Lavi, who played Eve in the wicked drama, showed her displeasure with the scammers by simply writing: “F*s.” It’s not the first time Tom, who is married to Eastenders actress Tamzin Outhwaite and has two children, has been impersonated online. He urged admirers not to give money to a phoney account in 2017, saying, “It’s not me.” In February, the actor stated that he does not use Facebook or Gmail and that he would never ‘talk privately with anyone he did not know in real life.’
