Talented and good looking actor Roshni Sahota, who after impressing one and all with her performance in Sony show Patiala Babes, is all set for her digital debut.
She will join Vivek Dahiya and others (Arjun Bijlani, Sid Makkar and Tara Alisha Berry) in ZEE5 thriller, The Siege – 26/11.
Says Roshni, “After doing TV for over 5 years (debuted with ill-fated Phir Bhi Na Maane…Badtameez Dil), I was looking for web roles, but could not do several offered characters for they were very bold.”
“But this show centred around those horrific 72 hours back in 2008, when Pakistani terrorists held Maximum City to ransom. It has a different treatment and feel,” Roshni adds.
“I play the fiancé of an NSG officer (Vivek). While I don’t have any action scenes, we dwell on the emotional consequences of the above action.”
“The unit has been shooting regularly for the past six months, and the end is yet to come. The show will be releasing on Republic Day, that is 26th January 2020.”
“I had a blast shooting with Vivek and the entire cast.”
“On the big difference between shooting for the web and tv is that in the latter, you need to express emotions much more loudly as opposed to web, which is more realistic.” She first found name and fame with her two-year long stint in Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki.
Looking ahead, she avers, “I am open to more digital series that offer juicy characters sans the nudity bit.”
Besides web, Roshni is continuing her association with Pollywood (Punjabi film industry). “Unlike Bollywood, where you need deep connections, the Punju film industry is more open to newcomers. It is also growing in size and stature. I have signed one more such flick, which will go on the floors in February. Right now I can’t give out any more details.” She has already done three films in the above regional language.
“I am also doing TVC and music videos”, adds she.
Will you return to TV? “Why not? But after essaying Imarti Chautala in Patiala Babes, I need to go up the ladder in terms of content.” Can we see you coming back to this Rajita Sharma, Vivek Budako-produced show? “While they have clear norms against bringing back actors in the same show, I might work with them again for a fresh project.”
Best of luck, Roshni!!
