I will not go bold only for money: Vikram Singh Chauhan

After impressing one and all with his TV wares, good-looking dude, Vikram Singh Chauhan, is looking forward to his digital debut with Baarish – A Mood for Love, on ALTBalaji.

“I can’t reveal anything right now except that this Bhairavi Raichura production that also stars Sharman Joshi and Asha Negi will keep me busy in the first two months of 2019.”

Vikram was last seen in Sony supernatural saga, Ek Deewana Tha, where he played the baddie.

“The best part of web is that, having bound scripts in place, we know exactly what is going to happen from start to finish. TV on the other hand, with all its last minutes changes, equips you with all the tools (learning lines on-the-go and technical knowledge) to explore bigger platforms,” he states.

“My continuing TV stint certainly will help me make a mark in web as well. I am open for more interesting tube concepts, ranging from comedy to all-out cop dramas (such as Simmba and Dabang).” His first call to fame was Jaana Na Dil Se Door, on Star Plus.

When asked about the bold quotient on web, he says, “It differs; some stories are extremely bold, while others are edgy as per storyboard requirements.”

When asked to comment on the desi casting scene where actors appear very uncomfortable doing certain stuff, he says, “My funda is simple. I will only say yes to something that is in my comfort zone; I don’t do out of hand stuff just for content or moolah.”

“Having said that, to go bold or not is a personal choice. I give full respect to actors who decline at the very outset, giving makers enough time to find someone who is willing to go the whole hog. It is unprofessional to decline during the actual shoot, which affects everyone.”

In closing, we ask Vikram what went wrong with Ishqbaaz, as it was first reported that he might be the lead post-leap of this popular Gul Khan production. He replies, “Yes, I had got a feeler phone call when I was shooting for something in Mauritius. I had replied that we can talk once I am back. However, my return got delayed and by then they had chosen some other option. It is no great shakes; these things often happen.”

Vikram wishes all readers of IWMBuzz a Happy New Year. “I hope that I grow, learn and become a better person in 2019, than what I was in 2018.”

Happy New Year to you too, Vikram!!
