His Story the now streaming web series of ALTBalaji has come as a revelation with respect to the same-sex love stories. The series is garnering a positive response and good word of mouth from the masses. The series is produced by Ding Infinity, helmed by Tanveer Bookwala.
While the central characters excel, one character that is creating a lot of curiosity is the one played by senior actor Rajiv Kumar. He plays the role of Nihaal the creepy neighbor of Kunal (Satyadeep Mishra) and Sakshi (Priyamani Raj) who has quite a lot to give to the plot.
Playing this character was creatively satisfying for Rajiv Kumar. In addition to this, Rajiv will be seen in the Kangna Ranaut starrer film Thalaivi where he will play the role of Rajiv Gandhi.
Says Rajiv about his portrayal in His Story, “I loved playing this character. I thoroughly enjoyed being part of the series. The character demanded a certain kind of attitude and behavior, and my Director was happy with my performance. In fact, the dialogues given to Nihaal are what make the character stand out. The audience reaction to Nihaal has been very good, and I am happy about it.”
“It was great working with Satyadeep and Priyamani. Priyamani is a big star in the South; she did Family Man too. It was a happy and jovial ambiance with all on the set, “Rajiv adds.
Rajiv who is a Punjabi himself, was at ease in the role. “I did not prepare much for the role. Writer Suparn Varma as I said earlier, gave me great dialogues. Our Director in His Story, Prashant Bhagia mastered the troupe really well. I had done an ad film with him, and he was the one who called me for the series.”
Rajiv who has been in the TV industry for long is exploring newer characters and different mediums of work. “I am doing Thalaivi, and will be seen in the role of Rajiv Gandhi. I will be seen in the Ajay Devgn starrer film Bhuj. I have shot for a web series, which I cannot talk now.”
“I am a bit bored playing the same kind of roles on TV. The medium of the web gives very good opportunities for actors to explore and try something different. There is a different ambiance on the web and the scripts are really good.”
Well done, Rajiv!!
