Gutar Gu Season 2 (Amazon MX Player) has finally hit our screens, and it’s just as gorgeously sweet as its predecessor. Continuing the sweet and bittersweet journey of Anuj and Ritu, played by Vishesh Bansal and Ashlesha Thakur, this season takes us deeper into the complexities of young love, especially as the distance between them grows.
Picking up from the heartwarming moments of Season 1, where we saw Anuj and Ritu navigating their first relationship with the innocence of youth, this season introduces a new layer of challenges.

What makes Season 2 particularly engaging is how it explores the characters’ growth. Anuj, still the earnest and somewhat naive boy we fell in love with, faces the pressures of his traditional upbringing while trying to keep the spark alive with Ritu.
On the other hand, Ritu showcases her strength and independence, having evolved from the teenager who boldly claimed her feelings in Season 1. She’s now navigating her own ambitions, adding depth to her character.
The dynamic between them is still charming, but it’s the subtle nuances of their communication—text messages filled with longing, video calls that reveal their struggles—that truly resonate. Their love story is no longer just about cute outings and sunrise reconciliations; it’s about facing misunderstandings and the heartache that distance can bring.
Adding to the mix is Amit Bhaiya, portrayed by Satish Ray, who brings comic relief and warmth. His character continues to be the perfect wingman, offering sage advice wrapped in humour. His antics provide a much-needed balance to the more serious themes of the season.
Director Saqib Pandor skillfully captures the essence of teenage love while highlighting its challenges.
The cinematography beautifully showcases both cities, grounding the narrative in their distinct atmospheres, which enhances the emotional stakes.
