IWMBuzz reviews Breathe: Into the Shadows 2

Mayank Sharma is back again with a double dose of ‘darkness’ with season 2 of Breathe on Amazon Prime and nevertheless, we can expect a dark spell hunt all across

Breathe: Into the Shadows 2 promises on Amazon Prime to bring back the enigma and gloaming of what it carried in its first season. What’s most intriguing is that it perfectly catches on where it left off. With the engrossing characters, instances and plot, the second season curls with a turnaround to what we witnessed back in the time. But this time with a big blob of more unveils and a crazy spine-chilling ‘whodunit’ to hook onto.

The story spun around the Sabharwal family once again, which kickstarted back in season 1 with the absconding of Siya, Abhishek Bachchan’s daughter. And that’s when Abhishek Bachchan aka Dr Avinash Sabharwal turns into a merciless assassin from an innocent frantic doctor, with the mystery fanning towards a masked evil man. Season 2 however, carries out the cliffhanger right on its dots, with inspector Kabir aka Amit Sadh bisecting one after the other. With the cuts and puts, the screenplay elevates with a new curve at every end and corner, leaving the audience with the urge to start the hunt within the elevation.

But then again, Breathe Season 2 still remains wholesome of a plot! For it doesn’t only float on the scraps of ‘Psychological thriller’ but also sails with other societal issues further. The constant deprivation of ‘mental illness’, failed betrothals and more.

Speaking of characters, Nithya Menon, the dour mother doesn’t fall any behind to take on the leads to conquer ampler risks. While that Abhishek Bachchan once again takes an oath to oppugn his acting intuitions and nurtures them well throughout. The series also gets an augmentation with Naveen Kasturia as Victor, Saiyami Kher and others in pivotal roles.

We would rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
