SIT (Shitty Ideas Trending), by Chhavi Mittal and her director husband, Mohit Hussein is back with a new short film named The First Date. Like the channel’s other projects namely Bin Bulaye Mehmaan, Maid In Heaven, The Better Half, this film is also sweet, entertaining, and clean.
The short film is a story about Megha and Nikhil played by Anjali Tatrari and Shaleen Malhotra, who get ready for their cute first date. Nikhil welcomes the interior designer Megha to his house for the date. Nikhil, who is a chef, cooks some delicious meals. They talk and get to know each other during their date and decide to meet again.
However, the twist in the tale is that Nikhil and Megha are actually married and it was an arranged marriage. They come up with the idea of going on dates to get to know each other better. This twist which comes at the end of the story was unexpected but sweet.
“There is no ‘right’ kind of marriage. The couple involved need to make it right.” What makes a marriage work is something of a mystery because every marriage is unique. Still, there are ingredients love, trust, compatibility, adjustment, etc. that can make it stronger. The purpose of such a simple yet meaningful story is that it is important in every arranged marriage relationship that a couple get to know each other and bond well. It is important to find love.
The premise of the series is exceptionally relatable to viewers and strikes a familiar chord. The casting of Nikhil and Megha is apt as the audience had already accepted them as a couple in the Sony TV show Mere Dad Ki Dulhan.
