Legendary Tamil star-actor Vikram’s son Dhruv has not had much luck with his career ever since his launch in 2019 with Adhitya Varma(a terrible remake of Sandeep Vanga’s Arjun Reddy). Not even pairing up with his father in Mahaan helped. It only accentuated the junior’s weaknesses.
Now Dhruv hopes to strike luck with a film being produced by Sameer Nair and Applause Entertainment. Mari Selvaraj’s untitled project starring Dhruv Vikram in the title role, marks the beginning of a multi-film alliance between Applause Entertainment and Neelam Studios
After the remarkable success of its debut Tamil feature film Por Thozhil, Applause Entertainment is all set to make further inroads into the South with Neelam Studios, led by the visionary filmmaker Pa Ranjith and producer Aditi Anand.
The inaugural project from this alliance is the highly anticipated sports drama, directed by the acclaimed director Mari Selvaraj, the creative force behind the recent blockbusters Maamannan and Karnan.
The Untitled Mari Selvaraj project is scheduled to commence production early 2024 and is a sports drama, a tale of guts, grit and glory in the life of a young man where the whole world was a Goliath to his David. A story of a man who defied the lines on his hand to achieve what no one thought possible, to choose sport over a gun, peace over violence and life over death.
Superstar actor Chiyan Vikram’s son Dhruv Vikram leads the cast playing the titular role along with Anupama Parameswaran (Premam, Kurup) playing the female lead.
Sameer Nair, Managing Director, Applause Entertainment, “Our collaboration with Neelam Studios signifies an exciting chapter for Applause Entertainment. This partnership, starting with an extraordinary sports drama, underlines our commitment to weaving impactful narratives. Bringing together the brilliance of Pa Ranjith and the talent of Mari Selvaraj, supported by a talented ensemble, lays the foundation for us to carve a significant space in the vibrant world of South Indian cinema.”
