The Miss Universe beauty pageant is undoubtedly the most famous and popular pageant in the world when it comes to beauty and charm. Innumerable models all over the globe look forward to being a part of the global stage to showcase their talent and that’s what we admire the most. It’s the mother of all pageants in the world as there’s nothing greater and more grand than that. You might be the winner of different pageants in different parts of the country. But being a part of the Miss Universe competition is a different achievement altogether indeed.
Just like other years, this year too, expectations were high from all the models who participated in the tournament. However, at the end of the day, we could only have 1 winner among all the deserving candidates and this year, it was Filipino-American Miss USA R’Bonney Gabriel who’s a Houston-based fashion consultant. She won ahead of other famous contestants from the world. For the unversed, India’s Divita Rai made it to the Top 16. However, she couldn’t unfortunately advance to the Top 5. R’Bonney Gabriel was honoured with a sapphire-encrusted crown worth a whopping $5.58 million. In the top 3 question round, Gabriel spoke about using fashion as a “force for good”.
“I am cutting down on pollution through recycled materials when I make my clothing,” she said. “I give sewing classes to women who have survived human trafficking and domestic violence.”
We at IWMBuzz congratulate her and we wish her good luck going forward. Let us know your views in the comments section below and for more updates, stay tuned to IWMBuzz.com
