The best of romantic tales and love triangles have been brought to the Indian OTT space by the Czarina of Television, Ekta Kapoor. ALTBalaji has a huge stake in love triangles on the web medium. And when we talk about the best that has come our way, it is Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain, starring Ronit Roy, Mona Singh and Gurdeep Kohli. The life of a family man gets into a complicated mess when his love affair is brought in the open. Ronit Roy and Mona Singh played the much-in-love couple who defied all odds and broke all barriers to unite. The series has seen three thundering seasons where the complications in this love triangle has only risen from one level to another.
Bebaakee:
This series that aired on ALTBalaji and ZEE5 was all about love, brotherhood and also hatred. Bebaakee had a great stellar cast and saw a fresh combination of cast in Kushal Tandon, Shiv Jyoti Rajput and Karan Jotwani. The love triangle here formed between Kainaat, Sufiyaan and Imtiaz threatened the very existence of love and family’s togetherness. His Storyy which again aired on ALTBalaji and ZEE5, is unique in its love triangle concept, as it involved two men who are in deep love. The series produced by Tanveer Bookwala talked about the acceptance/denial of homosexual love. The series featured Satyadeep Mishra, Priyamani and Mrinal Dutt in central roles. The lives of the couple Kunal and Sakshi get shattered when it comes to the fore that Kunal loves Preet. This complicated love story questioned the sensitive issue of the society not accepting the love between two men. The narrative was very crisply taken forward.
Aadha Ishq:
This Voot Select series depicts modern-day love and its extremities. The tumultuous love of artist Sahir and Roma, gets suppressed with time, only to emerge in a different way years later. Roma’s daughter Rene falls in love with the same guy Sahir, and this creates a terrible complication which threatens to break many relationships. Gaurav Arora, Aamna Shariff and Pratibha Ranta very beautifully enacted their characters that broke all shackles of romance.
Crashh:
This presentation on ALTBalaji and ZEE5 depicted sibling love. However, a huge wave of love triangle erupted when two of the siblings fell for the same man. Anushka Sen, Aditi Sharma and Zain Imam played the central characters. The series was basically woven around the sibling love and the pain created owing to their separation. However, the love triangle did bring in a big twist in the tale.
