The episode of the popular talk show Koffee with Karan featuring young Indian cricketers Hardiky Pandya and KL Rahul has stirred up huge controversy.
The two of them talked about their links with various women and also got involved in few sexist comments that did not go down well with the public. Of course, being the future of the Indian Cricket Team, none in the BCCI appreciated this kind of talk on National Television.
Soon, Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper was seen interacting with media regarding this controversy, wherein he claimed that these were the thoughts of the players and this has no association with the entire team.
This was followed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issuing a show cause notice, for the comments they made. BCCI granted them time of 24 hours to give their explanation. Hardik did later send in his apology to the Board.
While all these reactions followed, there has been a huge development with Hotstar pulling down the episode on the chat show which featured these two cricketers.
The episode is no longer available for public viewing. The original link put up by Hotstar leads to a ‘404 – page not found’ page now.
Pandya and Rahul are the first two cricketers to appear on the popular chat show. While both the cricketers boasted about hooking up with multiple women, Pandya’s comments were borderline sexist and racist.
The BCCI had on Tuesday had taken note of his “crass and cringe worthy comments” on the chat show and had ticked him off.
On Thursday, Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai had recommended a two-ODI ban for the duo.
We buzzed the spokesperson at Hotstar but did not get any response.
Stay tuned for more updates.
