Those looking for a dose of comedy as the perfect medicine this weekend, are in for a treat as LOL – Hasse Toh Phasse from the house of Amazon Prime Video is FINALLY here. Featuring 10 talented comedy entertainers Aadar Malik, Aakash Gupta, Aditi Mittal, Ankita Shrivastava, Cyrus Broacha, Gaurav Gera, Kusha Kapila, Mallika Dua, Sunil Grover and Suresh Menon along with hosts and referees Boman Irani and Arshad Warsi, we certainly couldn’t have asked for anything better. Bringing in a unique format that had us intrigued right from the word go, along with humorous and entertaining antics by the best in the comedy business, here are five funny moments from the show.
Gaurav Gera at his best: Just like his high-on-comedy social media game, Gaurav Gera packs a punch on the show mouthing a series of hilarious, spontaneous dialogues in his multiple avatars. The ones that certainly stand out and will stay in your head forever are his skits where he dresses up as a schoolgirl in a skirt with pigtails, and then another one where he dresses up like an old uncle with dentures. While we couldn’t get enough of these two avatars, Gaurav plays multiple characters on the show to be an absolute show-stealer. With him around, there’s never just one funny moment.
Boman and Arshad’s commentary in the Pit: Boman Irani and Arshad Warsi are much more than hosts on the show. With the duo given the responsibility of keeping a vigilant eye on the 10 contestants, we see this jodi having a gala time together, in their pit which has close to 45 cameras. Their constant commentary on the comedians deserve a show of their own. We missed seeing these two together on the screen and we’re so happy and tickled that they’re back.
The fun-tastic action replays: The show sees an action replay being played each time a contestant breaks the rules and smiles or laughs. Making it all the worse for them are the two judges who don’t waste a single moment pointing out the blunder and then mimic-ing them, while they’re at it. We don’t want to reveal any spoilers and would urge you to watch this show and discover on your own.
Kusha Kapila’s Nagin dance: We’ve seen her as an agony aunt from South Delhi, but watching the cool Kusha as an ichadaari naagin was far beyond our wildest imagination. Amongst the many crazy characters that she plays while locked in the house, this one certainly is worth a mention and rightly so. After all, we got to see her get right into the skin of her character and perform a hilarious Naagin Dance and make others shake a leg as well. Kusha, as a Naagin sure made us laugh Hiss-terically.
Suresh and the Skeleton: It’s a sight that we still can’t get out of our head. Yes, we’re talking about Suresh Menon and his tete-a-tete with the skeleton, who makes for a very different, yet interesting partner. If watching Suresh, with a South Indian accent and lungi, in Adar Malik’s showtime wasn’t enough to make you laugh, wait till he teams with up the skeleton and makes serious conversations with it by asking the bag of bones about its health.
While we’ve only highlighted 5 of the fun moments from the show, LOL-Hasse Toh Phasse has spontaneous one liners, absolutely rib-tickling showtime acts and these fabulous 10 comedy entertainers who are going to have you in splits.
