OMG: Gandi Baat fame Gehana Vasisth hospitalized after suffering stroke, needs your prayers

Actress Gehana Vasisth hospitalized at JJ Hospital

Actor Gehana Vasisth who was arrested for allegedly shooting and uploading obscene and pornographic content on her website is currently in the cardiac speciality section of the Sir J J hospital in Mumbai, her publicist Flynn Remedios informed.

Remedios has launched a #Justice4Gehana campaign on social media as she has been denied bail for last 4 months, for technical reasons like the court being adjourned due to Covid restrictions, or some other mechanical reason, without her genuine human right to be eligible for bail on merits.

She had tested positive for Covid in April and was shifted to the BMC’s Prisoner Covid Care Centre at a specially conducted facility for under trials at a Municipal school at Byculla. This was initiated by the Bombay High Court which took suo moto cognizance of several prisoners testing positive for Covid in April both at the Byculla and Arthur Road jails and across jails in Maharashtra. Gehana Vasisth was lodged in the same section as former INX founder Indrani Mukherjea.

Gehana recovered from Covid but she suffered a major stroke and was shifted to the cardiac speciality section of Sir J J hospital, Remedios told this reporter.

Immediately upon her arrest the actor’s publicist and legal affairs head Flynn Remedios had issued a statement.

He had said that his client shouldn’t be kept in custody owing to her “fragile health”. According to him, Vasisth “suffered 4 cardiac arrests in the last one year” and is also asthmatic. Remedios had further urged the authorities to allow her to get hospitalised at the earliest or permit her to be treated in a private hospital of her choice at her own cost.

Her bail application is pending in the Bombay High court for nearly 6 weeks.

According to Remedios, Gehana’s sugar level was 503 when tested by the Byculla Women’s Jail authorities. She had suffered from diabetes ketoacidosis – a fatal form of diabetes, last year. Her blood pressure is low and she needs insulin twice a day, which was being administered to her in the jail. She suffered a stroke and was rushed by jail authorities in an ambulance a few days ago. She miraculously recovered from Covid after a long battle, in spite of being a diabetic and cardiac patient, but is now once again fighting for her life, he said.
