Manipur-based actor Lukram Smil, who played the protagonist in the digital film “Penalty”, is all set to entertain fans in a new project. As per a reliable source, the actor will be seen in Starz’s India-based streamer Lionsgate Play’s new series named U Special.
The story will be directed by Karwaan director Akarsh Khurana, who will also serve as the showrunner. Adhaar Khurana, who worked as an assistant director on Karwaan, will co-direct. It is set in the cheerful, quirky and vibrant world of a large university campus filled with young people from all over the country.
As per reports, the ensemble cast includes Sumeet Vyas, Arjun Mathur, Parambrata Chatterjee, Rukshar Dhillon, Taaruk Raina, Gopal Datt and Ahsaas Channa, among others.
Lukram confirmed being part of the project and said, “It is an honour to be working with a great ensemble. During these tough times, we are shooting with utmost care and taking all necessary precautions. I am thrilled and I am sure audiences will love it.”
