Ram Kamal Mukherjee to direct Broken Frame based on his best seller book

Noted author turned filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee will be directing his fourth short length Hindi feature Broken Frame based on his bestseller fiction Long Island Iced Tea. After making acclaimed films like Cakewalk and Season’s Greetings, the director will be adapting the first short story from a collection of eight short stories published in 2017 by Leadstart Publishing. “It’s one of the most popular stories from the book and I received a massive response from the film fraternity. I wanted to adapt the book into web series with a leading production house but unfortunately, it didn’t work out,” says Ram Kamal Mukherjee.

The film revolves around the life of a couple, happily married for years. But on the night of their wedding anniversary, something happens that changes the narrative of their life. “I think short films are all about human relationships. Within a limited time, we need to tell a story that would intrigue the viewers. This particular story had the germ, but we had to tweak the narrative keeping the language of cinema in mind,” added Ram Kamal.

Produced by Aritra Das, Gaurav Daga, and Shailendra Kumar, the film will be shot in Kolkata during the monsoons. “I remember how celebrities would call Ram Kamal da and praise this particular story. It’s a beautiful romantic story with a twist in the tale,” says Aritra Das from Assorted Motion Pictures. The cast of the film will be announced soon. “I have seen Cakewalk and I wanted to work with Ram Kamal and Aritra. They are young and making interesting content. The story of Broken Frame excited me,” says Gaurav Daga.

Shailendra Kumar from SS1 Entertainment who also doubles up as the music director of the film says, “This is our fourth venture as a team. After Cakewalk, Seasons Greetings and Rickshawala, I am really looking forward to this association. I have my faith in Ram Kamal da’s vision when he narrated me the story I was in love with the narrative.” The screenplay and dialogue have been penned by Sameer Satija and the teaser poster is designed by Ekta Bhattacharya.

Now it’s a matter of time for us to wait for the cast announcement of the film. The maker promises a big surprise!
