Sarbani Mukherjee makes her singing debut in A Tribute To Rituparno Ghosh Seasons Greetings 

After Jaan Kumar Sanu, music director duo Shailendra Sayanti introduces yet another voice in their second venture A Tribute to Rituparno Ghosh Seasons Greetings. They launched Sarbani Mukherjee, a trained Rabindrasangeet vocalist for the second track in the film. The singer duo, recorded the female version of the title track Kunjavan at Trinity Studios in Mumbai. Sarbani is a trained singer, under the tutelage of musical thespians like Suchitra Mitra and Sumitra Chattopadhyay at Rabi Tirtha in Kolkata.

Composed by Rabindranath Tagore in Maithili langauge the song will be an integral part of the film. “Sarbani is a natural singer and we wanted a voice that would come across as natural as possible. Though we were a bit hesitant in the beginning but the moment she started recording the song we knew that we have made no mistake in choosing her for this track,” says music director duo Shailendra Sayanti.

This film will be directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee, and is produced under the banner of Assorted Motion Pictures and SS1 Entertainments. The film revolves around the story of a mother and daughter relationship. “I would give the entire credit to my parents Krishna Majumdar and Sunith Majumdar who literally forced me to pursue Rabindrasangeet as a child. I am eternally grateful to my teacher Late Suchitra Mitra  and Sumitra Chattopadhay for being a strict disciplinarian and guiding us on the right note when it came to Tagore song. I am glad that my voice will be a part of a film which pays tribute to Rituparno Ghosh,” says Sarbani Mukherjee. She also credited Shailendra Kumar and Sayanti Samanta for encouraging her in singing the track. “Both of them were helpful and guided me technically to render the track. I am still nervous, and hope that people will like the track,” she added.

The film is produced by Aritra Das and Shailendra Kumar.
