The troubles for producer Vashu Bhagnani continue as he continues to find himself in a soup of trouble.
Recently, Bhagnani, in an interview with Economic Times, claimed that streaming giant Netflix ‘cheated and conspired against the rights of his three recent films’ which include Hero No. 1, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Mission Raniganj.
Following that, he has apparently filed a complaint against Los Gatos Production Services India, through which Netflix reports its content investments in India, Zoo Digital India and several executives of both companies.
Vashu recently also entered into a legal jab with director Ali Abbas Zafar, as reported by IWMBuzz.
Now in a response to our editorial queries Netflix informed us via its spokesperson, “These claims are completely unfounded. indeed, it’s Pooja entertainment that owes Netflix money. We have a strong track record of partnership with the Indian creative community and are working with the authorities to resolve this dispute.”
According to a reliable source, it was said that no money is due and payable by LG India to Pooja group of companies. In fact, LG has to receive monies for which the matter is pending adjudication before the Bombay High Court in an arbitration petition filed by LG India.
To add more on Ali Abbas issue, Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment have lodged a complaint against director Ali Abbas Zafar, accusing him of misappropriating subsidy funds provided by Abu Dhabi authorities during the filming of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
Allegations of unpaid dues by the producers have surfaced since yesterday, following the complaint registered at the Bandra Police Station on September 3, 2024. The police are expected to summon the director for questioning in the near future.
We will keep an eye on further developments.
