SonyLIV’s KFC Big Bash Cricket League is the world’s grandest T20 cricket tournament. The Australian franchises battle it out with some power-packed display of bold hitting while the bowlers look to get their mojo right.
Started in 2011, Big Bash League features 8 teams competing against each other on 14 different venues across Australia. Team Melbourne Renegades is the defending champion following their win against Melbourne Stars earlier this year.
The 2019-20 season is the 9th year of the KFC BBL which started on 17th December with a match between Sydney Thunders and Brisbane Heat. This season will have 61 matches in total and the final is scheduled on 8th February 2020.
With big names in this year’s tournament like AB De Villers, Chris Lynn, Usman Khawaja, Aaron Finch, Rashid Khan, Steve Smith & many more, it promises to be a thrilling and entertaining display of cricketing action.
It is said that Big Bash League 2019-20 will have a new finals format which will allow the top five teams to fight for the title after the league stage gets over. Also, the top two teams will get double chances to make it to the final. The new format for the finals has been introduced to provide greater rewards for the two teams finishing atop the league.
