ALTBalaji and ZEE5 show Code M Producer Samar Khan (Juggernaut Productions a) threw a success party, a couple of nights back.
All the main cast, including Jennifer Winget and Tarun Virwani, were present.
Even Ekta Kapoor made an entry. Ridhi Dogra, of upcoming ALTBalaji lesbian love story, A Married Woman (Another Juggernaut offering), also graced the event.
Talking to IWMBuzz.com, Samar says he is delighted at the response Code M has got so far. “We are already working on Season 2, but that will take time as we still need to work out the story and plot.”
“It is essential to get your casting right, and I am glad that Jennifer and Tanuj agreed to come on board,” says the Producer.
Samar seems to love the army. No wonder this is his second web show on the armed forces after The Test Case (again ALTBalaji).
“I love our men in green, and the best thing about them is that they have weeded out their bad apples in-house, thereby keeping the integrity of great institution intact. Our show showed just the same spirit,” adds he.
Coming to the entire web ecosystem, Samar says, “We are now coming out of the excess s*x game, which was there at the start due to the lack of censorship. But today, we have differentiated stories. Take ALT, which also boasts of shows like The Verdict – State Vs Nanavati (Juggernaut Productions) Baarish and Bose, apart from the Gandi Baat’s. A correct balance is the most important.”
“The biggest challenge in the web is to keep the story very pacy and edgy with enough hook points to force the audience to binge-watch the entire season.”
“There is a lot of web content around, but only those who have the USP will break ahead. We work very hard to get the true story and creativity for all our endeavors.”
“There a a few other shows in line as well,” adds he. Earlier it was reported that Juggernaut would also make content for Voot and Applause as well.
For the moment, Samar is satisfied being creative producer, “For once you become director, you need to focus only on one story, while I want to present different tales to my audiences.”
Samar is an old industry hand, having written for films and produced TV series.
