Jio Studios‘ Kacchey Limbu, a coming-of-age sibling drama starring Radhika Madan, Rajat Barmecha and Ayush Mehra is all set for its digital premiere on Jio Cinema on 19th May. The trailer of the movie was released recently and has got us excited as the slice-of-life story celebrates the unbreakable bond between siblings while exploring the challenges of pursuing one’s passion amidst familial expectations. Radhika Madan will be seen playing gully cricket who finds herself on opposing teams to that of her brother.

What caught our attention is the peculiar bowling action of Radhika which looks similar to that of our Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah, we asked the director Shubham Yogi to what he has to say on this uncanny resemblance, he said, ” When we started prepping for the cricket, I wanted to see what comes naturally to the actors. Radhika had grown up playing underarm with her older brother and she was super excited to show us what she knew. But she was even more eager to explore and invent a bowling action that could be an identifier for the character. Our research spanned from attending underarm tournaments in the suburbs of Mumbai to watching cricket highlights together. And in all this prep, we choreographed Radhika’s action as an amalgamation of what came naturally to her and taking inspiration from one of the best bowlers of the world – Jaspreet Bumrah.”
Synopsis
Kacchey Limbu is a heartwarming coming-of-age story that follows a pair of siblings as they struggle to balance their families’ expectations, while pursuing their individual passions. Aditi, the younger sibling, is trying to please her parents and friends by following ‘their’ dreams for her. Akash, the older brother, is resisting everyone’s ideas for his future while trying to hold on to his childhood dream. Their story shows us how dreams can change us, and how sometimes, we change our dreams.
