Barah by Barah is a feature film about a photographer who clicks the last photographs of the dead at Varanasi’s Manikarnika ghat.
Talking about his experience, Gyanendra says, “This film was an opportunity to put all my training as an actor to test. I had to use the craft in a way that it’s not visible and that required a lot of unlearning… Usually in our popular films directors ask actors to do more so that audience can understand and here I had a director who didn’t want to undermine the audience’s intelligence and asked me to just feel and be in the moment…It took me few days to realize this is exactly what I was trying to achieve when I was learning this craft in FTII”.
Gyanendra is best known for his portrayals of various characters in Sony Entertainment’s Crime Patrol.
He is seen in films like Gabbar is back, The Legends of Michael Mishra, Poorna (2017) directed by Rahul Bose, Romeo Akbar Walter (2019), Netflix’s Raat Akeli Hai (2020), and Chaman Bahar. He has also done several critically acclaimed short films like Takasal, Kaun Kamleshwar, The Dinner, Gulabi to name a few.
On the work front, the actor is busy shooting for one of Netflix’s upcoming projects and is currently in talks for various other films.
