Rahul Dua kicked off the first episode of Comedy Shots. He started off by talking about coming from a family of hoarders. This was a premise relatable to every Indian household. His jokes about ancient sofas coming to life were inherently funny.
Anubhav Bassi Singh’s episode begins with him worried about the audience he is going to face. He begins by joking about his starting days in comedy. He takes digs at Indian TV shows and jokes about how Indians don’t like to try out new things, like watching stand-up comedy. He also talks about his kidney stones.
Gaurav Kapoor, On Comedy Shots, brings us another classic. He begins his episode by quickly going through his routine and asking the audience to stop clapping so he can start his jokes. Gaurav Kapoor talks about running a marathon which he considers to be a scam.
Sumit Anand is a comedy veteran who’s been honing his craft for 10 years. He begins by talking about how hard it is being anti-social and lazy personality. He jokes about the difference between being lonely and being alone.
Sumaira Shaikh is the only woman on the line-up and she represents strongly in her episode. Her episode begins with her stealing makeup from the green room. Her jokes are about trying to earn respect from auto-rickshaw after being rejected.
Pratyush Chaubey gained popularity for his candid and honest comedy taken from his daily life. His characteristic low confidence and introverted comedy are charming and funny at the same time. His joke about his wife seeing his performance and asking him if he is telling jokes or testifying in court perfectly sums up his comedy.
Aadar Malik brings a unique style of comedy on Comedy Shots. While his episode came out in the monsoons it was centred around nostalgia about summers as a kid.
All and all, it is a total binge watch package. It is fun, entertaining and it’ll make you laugh. Aur Kya Chahiye……
