I was skeptical about playing mother to five young girls: Rukhsar Rehman

Rukhsar Rehman talks about her role in the web-series, Haq Se.

Rukhsar Rehman, who has acted in TV shows and films like Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Tumhari Paakhi, God Tussi Great Ho and PK, says she was skeptical about playing a mother to young actresses in ALTBalaji’s now-streaming web-series Haq Se.

“Initially, I was skeptical about playing a mother to five young girls, but my director Ken Ghosh made me understand the character graph. I found my role quite powerful. It’s not like they were turning my hair grey. I look just the way I do in real life, so I happily accepted it. I thought it to be like any other character; so there was no doubt in mind,” shares Rukhsar.

Sharing more about her digital show, she adds, “The story showcases the beautiful locales of Kashmir. It depicts the issues of society and how women are always judged and put to test. It also highlights the independent and strong mentality of today’s women. It also shows the amazing bonding between mother and daughters and the sisters. I am sure audience won’t get bored.”

On an ending note, she says, “It was a wonderful experience working for the series. We shot in Manali. It was fun working with the entire team. Although the story doesn’t spread any particular message, it is visually appealing for the audience.”

Good luck, Rukhsar!
