Sacred Games the web series based on Vikram Chandra’s novel was India’s first Netflix original. In its development phase, Erik Barmack, the Vice-President of Netflix contacted Vikramaditya Motwane to create Indian content for the platform. They then discussed on the novel of Vikram Chandra. After this work on the script began. We hear that the team worked really hard to convert this novel into a series and had to work on many nuances.
Mirzapur the web series that beamed on Amazon Prime was predominantly shot in Mirzapur, and dealt with the underworld of drugs, guns and bloodshed. The series which depicted the crime scene that prevailed in Purvanchal region on Uttar Pradesh was indeed worked into, for its relatability with the exact scenario that prevailed in the place.
