Netizens have been moved to tears by a viral video showing a woman accompanying her mother on a 10-day journey to Ireland before her dementia takes over fully.

Stephanie Martin, whose mother was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and told by the doctor that her mother only had a few years before losing her memory, chose to make the most of the time she had left. Martin accompanied her mother to view the Cliffs of Moher while planning a vacation to Ireland, something her mother had long wanted to do.

Martin shared photos of her favourite memories during their 10-day trip on Instagram, along with the remark, “My sweet momma was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia a few years ago. The doctors estimated that she would forget who we were in around 6-8 years. She always wanted to see the Cliffs of Moher, so I got her on a jet plane and made it happen.”
