A video of a small kid sitting peacefully inside a pot of boiling water with folded hands has gone viral, sparking a debate about whether it’s real or fake.

The boy is shown quietly sitting inside the huge container put atop a pyre in the 30-second video, which has received over 1.6 million views on Twitter. Although the water looks to be boiling, the youngster appears to be unaffected.

A large crowd gathers around the pyre, capturing the spectacle on their cellphones.

A user called Sandeep Bisht shared the video with the remark “This is 2021 India.”

While the people in the video appear to be thrilled and sold on the stunt, the video has been labeled a hoax by netizens.

According to one user, the feat was accomplished by placing a water pump beneath the huge container. He noted that the water within was not completely boiling because the flowers around the boy were not moving.

“When water boils it boils in every direction of the kadhai not just in front, flowers on the back are not even moving”, the other user wrote.

Many such comments were poured into the video.
