Snake admirers may now view the majestic reptile going about its daily activities, which do not include crossing public highways, thanks to social media and the internet. A recent Instagram video, though, shows the huge serpent doing exactly that.
The Anaconda is seen crossing a highway in the footage, eliciting a wide spectrum of reactions from onlookers, ranging from terror to awe. As more people become aware of the magnificent reptile, a crowd builds around it. As the anaconda slithers past them and climbs the divider to move to the other side as it enters the tarmac, people are stunned. People can be seen waiting for the traffic to come to a halt so they can cross the street. This helps to explain their fear.
A few passers-by can also be seen helping the anaconda in crossing the road and alerting oncoming vehicles to slow down and create space for the snake. The nice samaritans that aided the majestic beast, which always ended up in a perilous human environment, were hailed by Instagram users.
“Drivers had to halt their drive along a road in Brazil to make room for an anaconda to cross the road,” the Instagram account @animalsventure wrote five days ago. The specific moment and location of the footage, however, could not be confirmed.
The viral video has nearly half a million views and has sparked a flood of responses from internet users all over the world. “Well done those caring kind people,” one Instagram user said. “I couldn’t understand how people could be brave like this,” said another commenter, while a third added, “Happy to see humans helping animals survive.”
