No doubt, Dolphins are considered to be one of the friendliest sea creatures. There have been many instances when the dolphins are seen interacting with the humans joyously.

Mostly they are in greyish-blue color but isn’t it pretty impressive to see a dolphin of pink color? Recently, a video created a buzz on the internet that captured a rare pink dolphin. It was shared on social media by the Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Susanta Nanda along with a caption ‘if you haven’t seen a pink dolphin’.

The video features a pink dolphin swimming in the ocean. The netizens were quite impressed and mesmerized by this rare visual and one of them commented ‘Never seen one, is it a genetic mutation or some sort of algae makes them appear pink?’ while one of them said that the color is due to scar tissue resulting from rough games.

The video has gained over 65 thousand views on Twitter and more than 700 Twitter users have already retweeted this video while expressing how surprised they truly are by seeing this glimpse of a rare pink dolphin.

Actually, the pink dolphin is known as the boto or bufeo dolphin. Although they appear to be pink, their color varies between the shades of pink and grey. It mainly inhabits South America, in the Amazon river but also in the Orinoco Basin and Madeira river. These dolphins are also referred to as the Amazonia. It is reported that they live only in freshwater.

Even though it is extremely rare to catch a glimpse of pink dolphins, they can be found in places like Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, and a few more.
