China’s CCTV video of a large flock of sheep wandering aimlessly in a circle for 12 days goes viral

Over the course of twelve days, sheep were spotted wandering aimlessly in a circle in China.

The sheep are seen in the security camera footage from early November in northern China roaming continually in circles inside their fence.

People are shocked and perplexed as they try to make sense of the bizarre behavior displayed in the viral video. According to People’s Daily, a state-run news organization in China that tweeted a video of the bizarre incident on Wednesday, the reason behind the strange situation is unknown. All of the sheep are in good health.

According to Metro, Ms. Miao, the sheep owner, stated the performance started with a small number of sheep until the entire herd joined in.

The CCTV clip shows numerous sheep pursuing each other in a circle. Some sheep decide to join the other sheep that are lazing in a circle. Others remained completely still in the circle’s center. The mystery movies were filmed in the Inner Mongolian city of Baotou on November 4. The flock is observed traveling in a nearly complete circle while traveling clockwise.

Only the sheep in pen 13 went around the circle display out of the farm’s 34 sheep cages. Some others think Listeriosis, a bacterial condition sometimes known as “circling disease,” is what’s causing the sheep’s behavior. One side of the sheep’s brain may swell due to listeriosis, resulting in abnormal behavior.

In the beginning, affected animals are anorexic, depressed, and confused, according to a News.com.au report. They might push into corners, lean against things that are still, or circle around the affected side.

Poor-quality or rotting fodder frequently contributes to outbreaks. However, death usually occurs 24 to 48 hours after the onset of symptoms in sheep and goats.

Similar feelings were evoked the previous year when sheep in East Sussex were observed standing in concentric circles. Why some species, like sharks and turtles, travel in circular patterns has long been a mystery to scientists. They still haven’t determined the reason, though.
