On the streets of Kuwait, a woman is seen carrying a lion in her arms in a viral video. The pet lion caused alarm in Kuwait City after escaping from its confinement and invading a residential neighborhood, according to the Middle East Monitor. Several reports of the huge cat on the loose were received by local officials in the Sabahiya area.
A woman, believed to be the lion’s owner, was seen holding it in her arms in footage that has gone viral online. As it was being carried down the road, the lion was seen attempting to break free and heard snarling. Check out the video below:
On Twitter, the video has received over 4.5 lakh views and hundreds of stunning comments.
According to news outlet UPI, environmental police confirmed the lion belonged to the woman and her father. Officers assisted in the capture of the lion, which was then restored to its owners.
Exotic pets such as lions and tigers are forbidden in Kuwait, yet they are still widely kept. Exotic pet owners frequently rely on their connections to avoid being fined, but environmentalists around the world are increasingly criticizing the practice of keeping lions, cheetahs, tigers, and other predators as pets.
Authorities in Kuwait published photos of a massive lion roaming the streets in 2018. After a tranquilizer was used to quiet the huge cat, it was captured and taken to a zoo.
