As summer sets in Indian cities, an increasing number of people are seeking relief from the heat by drinking lemonade and other liquids. A video of a Sikh lemonade vendor humming catchy jingles while producing lemon drinks went viral earlier this month. In the undated video, the lemonade vendor speaks in a combination of Hindi, English, and Punjabi about the benefits of his drink.

A video posted to Instagram by Gourav Sagar under the name @13 gouravsagar05 shows a man saying, “Baaki nimbu baad vich paunga” (I’ll put the rest of the lemon later) as he squeezes lemons into a container. “Ek Baar piyogay to baar baar mangogay,” he sings as he pops the soda bottles to make the lemon soda (If you drink this once, you will ask for it again and again). Later, as amused bystanders watch him, he exaggerates and claims that after drinking his lemonade, people will not be thirsty for nine days.

“This is Kala namak, black salt,” he exclaims as he finishes his lemonade preparations with a pinch of black salt. “Thank you, Paa!” Thank pa is a Punjabi slang phrase that means “relax out.” Netizens, like spectators, appear to be amused by the lemonade vendor’s antics. “Wow, I love your confidence, sir,” someone said.
